The Constitution Study started in a public library meeting room in 2014. After hearing about a 2013 poll in which 36% of those surveyed could not name a single right protected by the First Amendment, Paul Engel asked a simple question. “Why don’t we study the Constitution they way my friends and I study the Bible?” While most people responded to that question with confusion, one friend reached out to the local public library, and the Constitution Study was born. After that first study, Paul Engel wrote a book, started a website, a podcast, a YouTube channel, and even a daily radio program, all dedicated to helping people read, study, and understand the Constitution. His goal was as simple as the question that started The Constitution Study, to leave his daughter a nation freer than the one we are all living in today.
