On September 17, 2026, Patriot Mobile joined the American Principles Project (APP) at the National Archives in Washington, D.C., to celebrate Constitution Day, America’s 250th anniversary, and the families who helped shape our nation.
The gathering took place 239 years after the signing of the U.S. Constitution, near the original Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and Bill of Rights. It also celebrated APP Foundation’s Liberty & Legacy: 250 Years of Great American Families, a book sharing the stories of 25 families whose contributions helped shape American history.
Patriot Mobile supports APP Foundation’s work to strengthen and protect the American family, including its efforts to defend parental rights, childhood innocence, and human dignity. Supporting Liberty & Legacy was an opportunity to put that commitment into action during America’s 250th anniversary year.
Lasting Change Begins with the Family
APP President Terry Schilling opened the evening by thanking Patriot Mobile for helping make the celebration possible. He then welcomed Patriot Mobile Faith Director and Pastor David Blease to lead the opening prayer.
Blease connected the evening’s focus on family to a biblical principle that closely reflects both organizations’ missions: lasting change begins in the home.
“It all stems from the family outward,” Blease said.
Drawing from Deuteronomy, Blease reflected on parents’ responsibility to teach their children about God. He prayed that families would once again become a source of renewal in America.
“Before you created government, you created the family,” Blease prayed. “I pray a blessing over APP… that we would see this nation come back to God because of the way that we love you and the way that we teach your principles to our family.”
Celebrating the Constitution and the American Family
House Speaker Mike Johnson continued the evening’s focus on family, reflecting on America’s founding principles and the role families play in sustaining a free society.
“The founders understood very clearly that the family was the foundational premise of a healthy society,” Johnson said.
Johnson pointed to the Declaration of Independence and its statement that Americans are “created equal.” He connected that principle to the belief that our rights come from God rather than government.
That focus on family runs through Liberty & Legacy, which tells American history through the lives of families whose influence reached across generations.
“Liberty and Legacy isn’t about the who or the what,” Schilling said. “This book reveals the why that motivated our forebears.”
Passing Freedom to the Next Generation
Johnson closed with the story of former President John Quincy Adams, who returned to Congress and spent years opposing slavery despite repeatedly failing to achieve the outcome he sought.
Johnson shared the principle Adams became known for: “Duty is ours, results are God’s.”
When Adams died in 1848, a freshman congressman named Abraham Lincoln was among those who helped oversee his funeral arrangements. Johnson used the connection between the two men to illustrate how the faithfulness of one generation can influence the next.
“We don’t know when the fruit is going to be born from the seeds that we are planting,” Johnson said. “But we know… the necessity of being faithful.”
That responsibility to the next generation is one of the reasons Patriot Mobile supports organizations like American Principles Project. Our mission extends beyond providing exceptional service. With the support of our members, we invest in organizations working to defend faith, family, and the God-given freedoms on which our nation was founded.
As America celebrates 250 years, Patriot Mobile is proud to support APP’s work to strengthen the American family and help ensure the freedoms passed down to us are preserved for the generations that follow.
