Patriot Mobile sponsored SBA Pro-Life America’s Lassoing Life and Liberty event in Dallas on September 8, 2026. The gathering, held on the eve of the Republican National Committee’s first-ever Midterm Convention, focused on SBA Pro-Life America’s efforts to protect unborn children, support mothers and advance pro-life public policy.
The event brought together national pro-life advocates and leaders, including Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser and country music artist John Rich. SBA Pro-Life America also publicly recognized Patriot Mobile’s support following the event.
Supporting Unborn Children and Their Mothers
For Dannenfelser, the purpose of the gathering was straightforward.
“We’re here because of our love of the unborn child and our love for their mothers,” she told attendees.
Speaking in Texas carried particular significance. The state played an important role in the history of the national abortion debate, from the origins of Roe v. Wade to the passage of the Texas Heartbeat Act in 2021. In 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization overturned Roe and returned authority over abortion policy to voters and their elected representatives.
Dannenfelser recognized the changes that have occurred while emphasizing that, from SBA Pro-Life America’s perspective, efforts to protect unborn children and provide support for mothers must continue.
Speaker Mike Johnson Reflects on Faithfulness Across Generations
Speaker Mike Johnson spoke about how significant social and political change can take generations. He shared the story of former President John Quincy Adams, who returned to Congress after his presidency and became a leading opponent of the House “gag rule,” which prevented the consideration of antislavery petitions.
After years of opposition from Adams, the House repealed the rule in 1844. Adams later suffered a stroke on the House floor in February 1848 and died in the U.S. Capitol. Abraham Lincoln, then a freshman congressman from Illinois, was among the members appointed to the committee overseeing Adams’ funeral arrangements.
Johnson presented the connection between the two men as an example of how the work of one generation can help prepare the way for the next. Adams did not live to see slavery abolished, but Lincoln would later lead the country through the Civil War and issue the Emancipation Proclamation.
“Duty is ours; results are God’s,” Johnson told the audience. “We’re going to be faithful in our duty, and we don’t know when the seed that we’re planting is going to see that fruit, but we know what our job is.”
His remarks emphasized remaining faithful to one’s responsibilities, even when the results may not be visible immediately.
Steve Scalise Emphasizes the Importance of Participation
House Majority Leader Steve Scalise addressed the role of civic participation. Recalling a congressional race decided by only six votes, Scalise offered a concise reminder: “Boy, do votes matter.”
He encouraged attendees to participate in elections and to engage people who may believe their individual votes will not affect the outcome.
Patriot Mobile Co-Founder and CEO Glenn Story continued that theme when he joined Dannenfelser on stage. Story encouraged attendees to recognize the role that voters, neighbors and church leaders can play in shaping public policy.
“It’s up to you guys to vote and get your neighbors out to vote,” Story said. “The pastors have to talk it up. Otherwise, life is gone.”
John Rich Discusses Faith, Family and the Future
Country music artist John Rich also addressed the audience, speaking about his faith, his family and his concern for the country his children will inherit.
Rich has spoken publicly about his pro-life convictions and the importance he places on defending those who cannot speak for themselves. He concluded the evening with a musical performance for attendees.
