Patriot Mobile was honored to support Heroes Ranch at its annual trophy presentation in East Texas, where participants from the previous hunting season returned to reconnect with their guides, share a meal, reflect on their experiences, and receive their professionally mounted trophies.
Heroes Ranch provides accessible outdoor adventures and fellowship for injured, wounded, ailing, or disabled veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, first responders, Gold Star families, and special-needs families. The organization works to ensure physical limitations do not prevent these heroes and their families from experiencing hunting, fishing, and the outdoors together.
At the heart of the mission is a desire to give back to those who have served others. Heroes Ranch provides these experiences at no cost to participating heroes and their families, made possible through the support of donors, sponsors, businesses, guides, and volunteers.
The experience at Heroes Ranch goes well beyond a few days outdoors. For someone whose injury, illness, or disability has changed what everyday life looks like, successfully returning to an activity they once enjoyed, or experiencing it for the first time, can restore a sense of confidence and possibility. Families get to experience those moments alongside them, while guides and fellow participants often become friends who remain part of their lives after they leave the ranch.
That lasting connection was evident at this year’s trophy presentation, where participants reunited with guides and friends and received mounts provided through donated taxidermy services. When asked about their favorite part of Heroes Ranch, not one participant chose the trophy. Instead, they spoke about relationships, family, gratitude, and experiences they once thought might no longer be possible.
Those connections often continue long after the hunt, with some participants even returning to volunteer, becoming part of the community that once welcomed them. The trophy presentation brings the Heroes Ranch mission full circle. The mounts are lasting reminders of the hunt, but the relationships, independence, and sense of community are what participants carry with them.
