In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, communities across the southeastern United States are still grappling with the devastation brought on by massive flooding and destruction. At Patriot Mobile, we are committed to serving as the hands and feet of Jesus, helping those in need during this challenging time.
Our Disaster Response Team has been meeting daily to best work through the challenges of the extreme natural disasters from Hurricanes Helene and Milton. So far, we have done the following:
Shortly after Helene hit, Patriot Mobile committed $50,000 to Mercury One to help with their successful relief efforts as they are trained and equipped to get into these areas quickly to give help.
Early last week, we coordinated with a Texas grassroots group to get an 18-wheeler full of supplies to those most affected. We want to thank the good people at Bennett Trucking for donating the 18-wheeler to haul relief supplies.
Also last week, Patriot Mobile sent our 26-foot trailer, loaded with generators, extension cords, diapers, formula, blankets, heaters, gas cans, and nonperishables to some of the hardest hit counties in Georgia.
Patriot Mobile continues to work with our members who have been most impacted by these hurricanes from losing their homes, jobs and loved ones.
The Patriot Mobile team is praying continually for all those affected by these natural disasters.
Before heading to Georgia, CEO Glenn Story dedicated the entire weekend to coordinating with local sheriff’s departments and state representatives to assess the areas most in need. He personally drove around town, purchasing and loading his car and trailer with requested supplies. Story also coordinated additional pickups the next day when the Patriot Mobile trailer returned from one of our sponsored events. In fact, he and his family were the ones who loaded the first trailer.
Upon arriving in Berrien County in Georgia, our team was warmly welcomed by Sheriff Ray Paulk and his department, who assisted in unloading the supplies. The partnership with local first responders ensured the timely distribution of food, water, and other essential items to the community. We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from local leaders, as we all come together to help those most in need.
“God had His hand in this delivery,” said one local resident from the city of Ambrose. “Every item you brought were things we didn’t have, and our community was in desperate need. With cold weather on the way, many of us were worried about our children. I will be praying for your mission in the coming years!”
Our relief efforts would not be possible without the selfless dedication of Patriot Mobile employees. Two of our team members leading the mission to Georgia, even chose to sleep in the truck to avoid taking hotel rooms from storm evacuees. Our staff’s commitment to serving others is an example of the values that Patriot Mobile holds dear.
They described the experience as humbling, bringing a small glimmer of hope to communities devastated by the hurricane. While their efforts felt small compared to the widespread destruction, the overwhelming gratitude and appreciation from those they helped made it all worthwhile. The trip was both physically and emotionally challenging, but they expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to be part of the relief efforts.
We believe that God’s hand was evident throughout the journey, protecting our team on the road and guiding the delivery of essential items to those who needed them most.
Join us in continuing to support the communities that now have the difficult task of rebuilding after Helene and Milton. We’re proud to partner with Mercury One Charity, a non-profit organization that is delivering humanitarian aid to the affected communities. We invite you to consider donating or volunteering through this remarkable organization.
