Anthony Pro-Life America, Concerned Women for America, and Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF). These incredible organizations are leading the charge in a growing national coalition calling on states, Congress, and the Trump Administration to stop using taxpayer dollars to fund abortion providers.
Planned Parenthood: The Truth Behind the Name
Planned Parenthood claims to be a healthcare provider—but their own numbers tell a different story. While legitimate healthcare services like cancer screenings and pap smears have plummeted over the last decade, their abortion numbers remain shockingly high. Each year, Planned Parenthood ends the lives of nearly 400,000 unborn babies.
In 2022-2023 alone, the organization received $700 million in taxpayer funds. That means your hard-earned dollars are being used to support the biggest abortion provider in the nation—against the values of millions of Americans.
But it doesn’t stop there. Planned Parenthood also prescribes dangerous gender-transition drugs to gender-confused children, a practice that raises grave concerns for parents and communities across the country. This is not an organization that serves the best interests of the American people.
A United Call: Defund Planned Parenthood
On March 27, pro-life leaders gathered in Washington, D.C., united in one voice: Defund Planned Parenthood.
“Today is a historic moment where the pro-life movement stands united behind one message: Defund Planned Parenthood,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.
“I believe this is the moment they will be defunded, and this is the blow that will bring them down,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America.
Then, on April 2, Alliance Defending Freedom argued before the Supreme Court in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, a landmark case that could shift the national conversation on Medicaid funding.
This case stems from a 2018 South Carolina Executive Order that redirected Medicaid funds away from abortion providers and toward pregnancy resource centers and other legitimate medical facilities. Planned Parenthood refused to comply and instead sued the state. Now, the Supreme Court will decide if states can choose to exclude abortion providers from Medicaid funding.
“Medicaid funds should be used to protect life, not destroy it. No citizen should be forced to fund facilities that perform life-ending and medically fraught procedures like abortion,” said ADF.
In support of ADF’s efforts, Concerned Women for America and other pro-life groups joined its “Choose Health, Not Harm” rally on the marble steps of the Supreme Court that day. The peaceful gathering was marked by worship, prayer, pro-life signs, and respectful speakers who spoke on behalf of the unborn babies who cannot speak for themselves.
A favorable ruling this summer could set a national precedent-one that protects the sanctity of life and puts an end to Medicaid-funded abortion with taxpayer dollars in pro-life states.
The Trump Administration Takes Action
In another important development, on March 31, it was reported that the Trump Administration is temporarily withholding $27.5 million in Health and Human Services’ Title X funding from certain clinics, including Planned Parenthood affiliates. The decision comes amid concerns about possible violations of executive orders, including the ban on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) programs and alleged efforts to encourage illegal aliens to receive care.
This move signals that the Trump Administration is taking compliance seriously—and is willing to challenge abortion providers that bend or break the rules to push a radical agenda.
