On October 26, 2024, Patriot Mobile served as the title sponsor for Mercury One’s Be the Light event, which showcased the organization’s year-round commitment to disaster relief, humanitarian aid, and global rescue efforts. Mercury One, founded by Glenn Beck, partners with ministries and nonprofits to provide life-saving assistance in times of crisis. Through its American Journey Experience Museum and research library, Mercury One also preserves and educates about the history and values that have made the United States strong.
The theme of the evening, “Be the Light,” was a call to action for “we the people” to step up in times of crisis. “We do not wait for the government. We do not rely on the government, and this year has shown us that we simply cannot,” said Glenn Beck. “In all these crises and more, we were the first ones in, and we will be the last ones out.”
Throughout 2024, Mercury One was at the forefront of providing rapid response to natural disasters and other crises. This year, the organization supported communities in seven states affected by devastating tornadoes in the spring. In the wake of Hurricanes Helene and Milton, Mercury One delivered an astounding 206,000 pounds of supplies and provided over 500,000 meals to those in need. The organization also continues to offer medical supplies, spiritual healing, and temporary shelters to the victims of the wildfires in Lahaina, Hawaii.
Mercury One’s humanitarian work extends beyond U.S. borders. The Nazarene Fund, a Mercury One organization, focused on rescuing persecuted individuals, relocated over 50,000 refugees, conducted 42 rescue operations in the Middle East, 75 operations in Africa, and assisted 22,000 Afghan refugees in finding new homes.
Patriot Mobile was honored to join Mercury One in these critical missions. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Patriot Mobile donated $50,000 to help fund the immediate relief efforts, providing essential supplies and aid to the victims.
One of the evening’s most poignant moments was the presentation of the Bonhoeffer “Angel” Award, named in honor of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the German theologian and martyr who stood against the Nazi regime. The award recognizes individuals who embody the spirit of courage, compassion, and integrity in the face of evil, while uplifting the human spirit. This year, U.S. Representative Cory Mills (R-FL) received the Bonhoeffer “Angel” Award for his heroic work in disaster relief and rescue operations in Israel, Haiti, Florida, and North Carolina. Rep. Mills’ tireless efforts to save lives and restore communities in the wake of tragedy are a true reflection of the American spirit.
