In the latest episode of Courage in Faith, host Danielle Buck sat down with Amy Ford, founder and president of Embrace Grace, for a heartfelt conversation about choosing life, extending grace, and the power of the church to love women through unplanned pregnancies.
Amy shared her personal story of discovering she was pregnant at 19 — a moment filled with fear, shame, and uncertainty. “I grew up in church, but I didn’t truly understand God’s grace until I needed it most,” Amy said. She described how, in a moment of desperation, she nearly went through with an abortion but was stopped by a compassionate nurse. That encounter changed the course of her life and planted the seed for her future ministry.
Years later, Amy founded Embrace Grace, a global nonprofit that equips churches to support single and pregnant women with love instead of judgment. “The church should be the first place a girl runs to when she’s pregnant, not the last because she’s scared of being shamed,” she explained. Today, Embrace Grace has helped launch more than 1,200 church-based support groups across all 50 states.
Amy reminded listeners that being pro-life is more than a belief — it’s a calling to love others through action. She emphasized the importance of meeting women where they are, offering compassion, and trusting God to transform hearts. “When we love people first,” she said, “God does the rescuing.”
Reflecting on the conversation, Danielle encouraged listeners to live out their faith with compassion and courage. “When we lead with love, we reflect the heart of Jesus,” she shared. “Together, we can make the church the safest place for every woman and every child.”
