As we observe the National Day of Prayer on May 1, we want to highlight a cause that is close to our hearts: Intercessors for America (IFA). This incredible organization is the largest national prayer ministry dedicated specifically to praying for our government and national leaders.
Since its founding in 1973, IFA has worked to inform, connect, and mobilize believers across the country to fast and pray for America. Their vision is to see God’s purposes for America fulfilled through sustained prayer and Spirit-led obedience.

The foundational verse behind IFA’s mission can be found in 1 Timothy 2:1–2:
“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made on behalf of all people… and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.”
God’s Word does not tell us to pray only when the political winds blow in our favor. We are called to pray for all those in authority. Prayer is not passive—it is a powerful act that has real impact on the future of our nation.
Prayer and the Power of Human Responsibility
As Pastor Rafael Cruz, Patriot Mobile’s spiritual advisor, has said, one of the greatest misnomers among Christians is the phrase: “God is in control.” While God is sovereign, that truth should never lead to inaction. God has given us authority on earth through Christ Jesus. As His representatives, we are called to intercede, to act, and to pray that His kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Intercession in Action: IFA's Focus
Intercessors for America (IFA) understands that the average Christian may not have the time or resources to stay fully informed on the most pressing issues facing our nation. That’s why IFA stands in the gap—providing timely policy and prayer briefings that connect government leaders with intercessors. This approach keeps believers informed and empowered to pray strategically and in real time as momentous events unfold across America.
“While it may seem that the darkness is getting darker, I am encouraged that the light is also shining brighter,” said IFA President Dave Kubal. “In fact, I am convinced that God still has plans and purposes for America, because He is calling people to pray for our nation in great numbers!”
Their model of prayer in action doesn’t end in the prayer closet—it mobilizes an army of believers who rise to vote, serve, lead, and influence government at every level. IFA’s key initiatives focus on advocating for capable leadership, protecting life, defending religious freedom, promoting biblical morality, standing with Israel, and ensuring national security.
The impact of IFA’s work is real—through bold outreach, they generated over 2 billion impressions last year via direct engagement and social media. More than 800,000 messages were sent from believers to lawmakers, amplifying the voice of prayerful citizens. IFA also engages with leaders such as House Speaker Mike Johnson, Senator Josh Hawley, and Senator Marsha Blackburn to advance biblical values in public policy.
A Call to National Awakening
At Patriot Mobile, we often speak about revival and awakening. We believe America was founded with a divine purpose, and next year—2026—marks the 250th anniversary of our great nation.
In the last election, we came dangerously close to losing the country we love. We believe that God showed mercy in November and gave America a reprieve from total judgment. But we also know that America cannot be saved through politics alone. What we need is a spiritual awakening.
