May 2 – On the National Day of Prayer, Patriot Mobile was honored to serve as the title sponsor of the 2nd Annual Tarrant County National Day of Prayer Luncheon in Fort Worth, Texas—a powerful and unifying gathering of over 700 faithful Americans coming together to lift our nation in prayer. This year, we reflected on Romans 15:13: “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
We were blessed to hear from actor and director Kevin Sorbo, who delivered a moving message on the significance of faith and prayer—both in his personal life and in the life of our nation. He shared his testimony of going from playing a mythological hero in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys to facing a very real battle for his life after suffering multiple strokes caused by a sudden medical emergency.
“I got hit with an illness that almost killed me,” Sorbo said. His journey of physical and spiritual recovery is detailed in his book True Strength: My Journey from Hercules to Mere Mortal, where he reflects on how that crisis led him to a deeper dependence on God. “You see, I had faith I never needed. It was never challenged the way it was until this happened to me. But as the Lord takes away, He also provides.”
Since then, Sorbo’s faith has sustained him through recovery and his return to full-time acting. That same faith and his deeply held convictions also led him to speak boldly about the truth he sees in what’s happening in America today—something that came with a cost. “Now, as I became more vocal about my politics and my faith, Hollywood eventually shut me out. I really believe I’m the ground zero victim in Hollywood for the woke cancel culture,” he shared. Yet through it all, his faith remained his anchor. Sorbo understands that just as faith sustains us in our individual lives, defending religious freedom is essential–because faith in God is our only hope for America.
“The American government was formed on Christian values. Godly men founded this incredible nation, pledging their lives to defend the promise of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness… To continue to be blessed as one nation under God, we must get back to our convictions.”
Our Chief Marketing Officer, Scott Coburn, also had the honor of addressing the audience, reminding us of the power of speaking God’s Word over our lives. He emphasized that Scripture clearly tells us, “The effective and fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.” Scott spoke of Isaiah 55:11 when he explained, “So what comes out of our mouth, which is God’s promise and truth—will not return empty. This is the Word of God: if we pray, if we honor God, and if we speak God’s truth, we cannot be defeated!”
Chief Communications Officer Leigh Wambsganss offered a heartfelt prayer, interceding for churches and families across our nation. She prayed for courageous leadership within the church, asking, “Heavenly Father, I pray for our churches. I pray for the church leadership to be filled with wisdom and boldness, and speak truth…. May the church be a beacon of light and joy to the world and may they be burdened with urgency to share the Gospel.” She also called on God to protect and bless our families, praying, “May our homes be a place of peace where love reigns… Guard our homes, guard our families, guard our children. I bind the enemy’s lies of sexual confusion attacking our children, in Jesus name! Help us to be the wives, husbands, and children that honor you. When we walk out of our homes each morning, remind us of who we are and of whom we serve.”
A sincere thank you to Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare for hosting this impactful and inspiring event, and for his steadfast commitment to making prayer a priority—not only in his personal life but also in his public service as an elected official.
May we never forget to fall to our knees in prayer—for our families, our communities, and our country.
